Do I need to share my tax return before we start, and who sees my financial data?
Short answer
To get a real review on your second call, we ask for your last tax return, uploaded through our encrypted client portal. If you'd rather not share it yet, we can walk you through an anonymized example instead. Only DeCypher's team sees your financial data.

Why we ask for it: we can't tell you where you're overpaying without seeing what was filed. Upload every page of your federal return, including Schedule C and Schedule 1.
How it's sent: through our secure client portal, never by email. If your return is on paper, you can scan it with the portal's app.
Who sees your data:
- Only DeCypher's team works with your financial information.
- Any contractor who touches client data signs confidentiality agreements and works inside our systems, and their work is reviewed by a DeCypher manager or CPA.
- Your QuickBooks is yours. You're the owner of the account and the data.
After you join, you'll sign Form 8821, which lets our team view your IRS records so we don't have to keep asking you for documents.
We record calls for quality and training. We never share your financial details publicly without your consent, and you can opt out of any marketing use of your calls in writing.
