DeCypher Financials

What happens in the first two weeks after I sign up?

Short answer

In your first two weeks, we set up your client portal and QuickBooks, connect your accounts, request your statements, and book your transaction clarification calls, where we sort your spending with you and teach you what you can write off.

Step by step:

  1. Sign and get set up. Once you sign your engagement letter, we set up your client portal with a short video and a welcome form to fill out.
  2. Onboarding call. Our creator success manager walks you through the portal. A co-founder sets up your QuickBooks, which is discounted through us, and connects your business bank accounts, cards and PayPal with you.
  3. Your homework. You upload what's requested in the portal: usually bank and card statements from December of last year on, monthly PayPal statements, your LLC and EIN documents, and Form 8821 so we can see your IRS records.
  4. We categorize. Our team sorts every transaction into creator-specific categories.
  5. Transaction clarification calls. Usually two. We go through anything unclear with you, like whether that Amazon order was a camera or groceries, and teach you what you can write off.
  6. Financial analysis and strategy. With clean books, we review your numbers and tax strategy with you.

Within 60 days of receiving everything we need, you get a written Tax Snapshot, backed by our guarantee. At the end, we ask you to roast our onboarding, so we can make it better for the next creator.

The fastest onboardings belong to creators who upload statements within a few days.
