Who owns my QuickBooks if I leave DeCypher?
Short answer
You do. You own your QuickBooks account and all its data, and DeCypher works in it as your authorized accountant, so if you ever leave, everything stays with you.

When we set up QuickBooks during onboarding, we make you the primary admin. The subscription is in your name, discounted through us when you start, and most creators only need the basic plan.
Why it matters: some firms keep your books in their own software. When you leave, you get a PDF, or nothing. We've onboarded creators who had to rebuild a year of books for exactly that reason.
If you leave DeCypher:
- We finish your books through the end of your current billing period.
- We prepare a final set of financials.
- You keep your QuickBooks login and all your history.
- You can bring the books in-house or hand them to another accountant.
